8M and 9M Moulds

8M and 9M  Moulds are used in the construction of two-way spanning waffle floors, with ribs at 800mm (8M) and 900mm (9M) in both directions. Very significant savings can be achieved in the use of concrete and steel reinforcement for frames, foundations and floor slabs. Recently the design of the mould has been modified for use in the UK so that it is now square in plan. The moulds are stronger and easier to use than before, saving labour and material in construction. Weight of concrete taken as 2500kg/m³. Solid concrete areas are excluded. For guidance on fire resistance of trough and waffle mould floors consult CIRIA Report No. 107  "Fire resistance of ribbed concrete floors". Quality of finish depends on preparation and concrete placing method.
